all about the heartwalk

Heart disease has affected our family tremendously over the last year and a half.  First with the passing of our brother, Jay and then with our mom, Lisa, surviving a heart attack.

Please join us for an annual HEART WALK!   Last year we started with $200 as our goal, we felt bad even asking for donations.  We raised almost $3400 from all our AMAZING family and friends.  Most important was the support from family and friends, near and far, it made our hearts feel very blessed at a difficult time.  Our blue, “JayBird” shirts made such a huge presence and our family cannot thank you enough.

Our brother, Jay McNamara had a passion for life and his generous heart touched so many. At the early age of 43, Jay passed away from coronary artery disease that had gone undiagnosed. His family and friends want to continue to honor Jay’s legacy of love through actively fundraising in his honor. Also, gather to share his memory, laugh at all his “Jayisms” and provide heart health awareness through participation in annual events.

This year we would also like to walk for our mom, Lisa, who unfortunately suffered a heart attack but is a SURVIVOR!  If it was not for what she had learned from Jay’s passing she may have not recognized the signs to go to the hospital.  Our mom is one of the most health conscious people, one you would have NEVER suspected to have issues.  She had 98% blockage…. unfortunately, genetics plays a huge part in her heart disease but goes to show it can happen to ANYONE!!

Luckily, she had an AMAZING angel watching over her that night it happened!

We would love to honor our brother Jay with you all!

Please click on the link below to donate or register to walk for the Jay McNamara Memorial Team!  It’s free so please don’t feel like you have to donate just come out to share support and get some HEART exercise!

Last year our family and friends raised $3,345.00 for the American Heart Association Heart walk!  The great thing is that money stays here in Kansas City!!  Lets see if we can top that this year!
